Having blown past the 100k subs mark a few months back and nearing the 150k mark already, Gears and Gasoline may be hazing the line between up and coming and already arrived. These guys are the real deal and it looks like they’re only going to keep growing.

Okay. You’ve caught my interest. I’ll check these guys out later tonight

not a bizarre analogy at all - hadn’t really thought about it that way, but it’s perfect. The perfect pan flip is about as rewarding as a perfect downshift. And that’s a beautiful ST, (though a little bouncy?)

I agree with them still being a bit up and coming because their content isn’t quite consistent yet. Like this film - I dug it, but it has some issues. I didn’t quite follow their cooking analogy. At least, not in the way they sold it. Cooking *is* cheaper than the TV dinners. At least, with the way I shop and plan meals. But it also tastes better due to the freedom I have in selecting spices and what not. I feel like they still could’ve used cooking but said it in a different way like “Gourmet quality meats and cheeses and vegetables were really expensive at a restaurant, but now you can have a professional kitchen prepare very fancy entrees for not much more, or maybe even less, than if you did it yourself. AND with their training and practice, it’d turn out better than yours....but cooking is a skill to learn, and there is a reward that comes from doing it, even if sometimes you make a misstep” *cut to a driver laughing at how they stalled at a light*.

Also the line delivery was a bit stiff and jilted. Not horrible, but obviously has room to grow.

Okay, also need to mention one more constructive criticism about them before I get off my soapbox. They do a very poor job making the case for their arguments sometimes. Like their video about car girls. They make okay points, but illustrate it using the wrong examples. So they try and talk about how girls need to be “included in the car scene” but instead of showing off the regular, every day women who are into cars and they’re likely to meet, they focus on two really cute, young, thin, well sponsored women. And semi-pro/pro/club level racers who are women definitely need representation. 100% behind that.

But....what about the middle aged mom of 3 who used to haul her kids to school in an impala SS because it beat the shit out of a minivan? What about a couple of random ass college students who look like everybody else but scrape every cent they have to mod their cobalt SS or build up a miata? What about the retired woman who treated herself to her dream car - a mint condition C2 corvette or an original hemi charger that she washes and waxes every week and drives to local car shows and cruises like a boss? Not only are all their stories important to tell and make sure people are aware of, but they are even easier to find! It boggled my mind that that whole video was exclusively for two hot 20-something women with pretty well build vehicles in competition. Fine and dandy and all, and their stories definitely need to be told and shared, but their stories do very little to fix the culture issue they set out to address.

I could go on on this video but that’s all that’s appropriate for now. Going back to my original points - I like them, but they need a lot of polishing before I actually subscribe and look forward to their content.
